    Don’t forget about the NEW Mommy…

    What’s the first thing you think of after you hear the wonderful news that someone is a new mommy? Why, buy a gift for the baby of course! But did you ever think to buy the little one’s mom a gift as well? While new babies are  a glorious gift, sometimes the aftermath of pregnancy can be a bit hard on new mothers and unfortunately can lead to postpartum depression. So a little “Mommy” gift here or there can’t hurt, just to say “we’re here for you!” or “you’ve done an amazing job!” A little and sparkle or shine can go a long way. So when you stop buy to pick up a baby gift, don’t foget to buy a little something for the mommy too.

    Be kind to one another…

    One of our mottos is to be kind to one another. We think that there is never too much kindness that can go around.  Well we think the fun way to express kindness is with something as simple as a card. Who says you need a specific event to write somebody a card or simply even tell them you care?? We think card sections there should be a “Just Because” category!  And you don’t need to write some crazy-elaborate 1000 word letter…Something as simple as an “I love you” or a “Let’s do Lunch” or an “I miss you, can we catch up soon?” can make somebody’s day. We have some fabulously unique cards that are blank inside for you to create your own special message.  What are you waiting for? Get to being kind and start writing!

    Hi Dolls!

    We hope you are all having a fabulous, fun-filled fall. We LOVE a number of fall activities: pumpkin patches, Thanksgiving and the crunch of leaves under our feet. However, nothing tops fall fashion!!  As BabyDolls Boutique Official Fashionistas, it is our duty of to tell you about the latest trends. This fall, cozy up with our genuine leather totes and cross-body bags that closely resemble the scales of a fish. Our blue one even looks like the fish from the children’s story, The Rainbow Colored Fish! We are in love with the color navy this season. The small orange “run-around” bag is just the right color to get us through the colder days and remind us that spring is right around the corner (or at least we tell ourselves that).     One of our Favorite Fall Accessories: HATS!

    Hey Dollies,

    How’s your fall going? Well ours is pretty stupendous. Wanna know why? Two words: fall hats! We have oodles of new hats that we simply must fill you in on. Whatever your style is, we have the hat. More into a classier, 1940′s, Allie from the Notebook-type look? We have just the hat for you. Our  brimless brown woolen hat is adorned with a large, flat , sparkly encrusted medallion consisting of a cluster of white jewels. Drooling already? Oh, it doesn’t stop there. The jewels are laid against an assortment of feathers of a deep emerald green color. Or maybe you’re into a funkier, more down-to-Earth, jazzy, Regina Spektor-type look. Say hello to our new fedoras. They come in an assortment of colors including pink and white and have a tie with a flat bow encircling them. They add a little “je ne sais quoi” to any fall outfit and look good with nearly anything–dresses, boots, scarves, you name it! Or maybe you’re into a simpler, casual-cute look. Our grey felt hat is simple yet subtly beautiful. Folds and layers of light grey come together to create a flower on the side of the hat. Whatever the your fashion vibe and whatever your style, we promise we’ll always be here to cater to it!

    “Sprinkle” Parties!!

    Every non-firstborn child knows the feeling of being bombarded with secondhand items. Sprinkle parties are a fairly recent phenomenon that allow for the practicality of not re-buying items already owned and all the fun of getting any items that the firstborn never got to own. Many moms go through second and third pregnancies without celebrating them with a big baby shower, because fun as they are, they involve a lot of preparation and hassle. But it’s no fun for the mom to receive NO celebration, is it? Sprinkle parties basically baby showers toned down a bit. Moms-to-be not only receive gifts for their babies that either the first child never owned but girlier items if the firstborn is a boy and vice versa.  Moms who throw sprinkle parties generally invite fewer guests then they would at a normal baby shower and have shorter-lasting parties.Though fewer people certainly doesn’t mean less fun! Sprinkle parties often have fun themes with a scumptious dessert table or even a cupcake bar.  Some enjoy swapping funny stories playing games like “Remember When?”  People bring items like diapers, bibs, and pacifiers as sprinkle party gifts.     SIDS Awareness Month

    At BabyDolls Boutique we take pride in carrying not just simply adorable but also functional baby products that are centered around the well being of babies. We are proud carriers of the World-renowned Aden + Anais  products, particularly the famous swaddles, which include a multitude of uses from ensuring a long and peaceful night sleep because of the nature of the swaddling position, also helping reduce colic all while helping straighten babies’ spines. Most importantly these muslin cotton swaddles help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) –so much so that the SIDS foundation allowed their label to be placed on the product!

    Did you know that November is SIDS Awareness Month? We think educating parents about reducing the risk of  SIDS is absolutely vital, so here are a few helpful baby tips:

    -Do not share a bed with your baby; studies show that there is a link between the sharing of beds and sudden infant death syndrome

    -Place your baby on his/her back when you put them to sleep (don’t forget swaddles can help babies remain peacefully on their backs!)

    -Remove any stray objects from the baby’s crib such as toys or extra blankets

    -Don’t let your baby get overheated. Make sure to not over-bundle him/her in clothes and hats and keep the temperature of the room between 61-67 degrees Fahrenheit. Aden + Anais Swaddles are perfect for any temperature because they are breathable enough to not overheat your little one during the night

    We hope you keep SIDS in mind this month and spread the word about how to reduce the risk of it!
