You want your baby shower to be as unique and hip as you are? Then if you’re looking for fresh baby shower tips, read on! To start off, we here at BabyDolls Boutique pride ourselves in carrying not only the hippest and trendiest baby must-haves, but we also happen to have five of the #1 selling newborn items in the country. Yup, you read it right…the TOP five sellers!!
If you’re plagued with the eternal question of “what do I buy?” In essence baby showers are now also referenced as a “Sprinkle”. Sprinkle parties are a fairly recent phenomenon that allows for the practicality of not re-buying items already owned, but all the fun of getting any items that the firstborn never got to own (every non-firstborn child knows the feeling of being bombarded with secondhand items!) Guests tend to bring more unique items like diaper covers, hand-made bibs and pacifiers as sprinkle party gifts. And there’s no better place to find that perfect sprinkle party or baby shower gift than at BabyDolls Boutique! If you have a newborn, your sister has a newborn, your best friend has a newborn, your cousin’s friend’s uncle has a newborn, you or your coworker’s brother’s friend has a newborn–no matter the person– then BabyDolls is the boutique for you! BabyDolls has an array of one-of-a-kind pieces in addition to hand-made items that are EXCLUSIVE to the boutique, such as their very own label p & b are the new black. Items vary from crocheted knitted hats and matching diaper covers that are so tiny they fit in the palm of your hand, to fun accessories like custom designed felt hair bows to picture-perfect onesies. All the newborn items are perfect for itsy-bitsy headshots or just for everyday wear! You’ll also be happy to know that part of the proceeds from the pink & blue label are donated to two local charity organizations. Nothing better than being equipped for a baby shower and giving back to those children that are less fortunate. And the best part is that you are fashionably saying “It’s IN to give”!!!
You also eliminate the nuances of moms-to-be not only receiving gifts for their babies that either the first child never owned, but girlier items if the firstborn is a boy and vice versa. Other Shower & Sprinkle ideas are that the menu is as cute and enticing as the person throwing the party, such as serving a la carte mini’s of everything you can imagine possible (they are kind of like little tasting itty bittys of random party favorites). Showers & Sprinkle parties often have fun themes with a scrumptious dessert table or even a cupcake bar.
Baby shower biggies – finger foods are the new filet mignon. Baby shower hosts are turning their heads to elaborate sit-down meals and are embracing mini-foods, including tiny French toast squares and fruit kabobs. Finger foods are a creative way to add some zest to a meal minus the mess. Also, wondering what games to play at the party that are a little more sophisticated than pin the tail-on-the-donkey fun for adults to play? Celebrity-based games are gaining popularity, such as matching celebrity parents to their child on cards. Another favorite is “Remember When?” and the reading of advice cards from guests with the structure of a Mad Libs card. Popular current trends include “green” showers in which moms and dads serve organic foods and ask for gifts with eco-friendly packaging and organic clothing. Another popular idea is to have the celebration double as a baby shower AND a gender-revealing ceremony. A fun idea could be to have the inside frosting of cupcakes be a mystery, so when someone cuts open the cake, the inner pink or blue frosting reveals the baby’s gender! We are delighted to share some of our fab-u highlights and thoughts on your perfect baby shower!
XOXO,

One of our mottos is to be kind to one another. We think that there is never too much kindness that can go around. Well we think the fun way to express kindness is with something as simple as a card. Who says you need a specific event to write somebody a card or simply even tell them you care?? We think card sections there should be a “Just Because” category! And you don’t need to write some crazy-elaborate 1000 word letter…Something as simple as an “I love you” or a “Let’s do Lunch” or an “I miss you, can we catch up soon?” can make somebody’s day. We have some fabulously unique cards that are blank inside for you to create your own special message. What are you waiting for? Get to being kind and start writing!

Posted in: Baby Trends, Our beliefs
If your little girl is constantly amidst a whirl of sleepovers, doll games and play dates with that one friend to whom she is practically joined at the hip, we have the perfect thing for her and her bestie. Our “best friend” necklaces are truly unique; they’re not the standard, flat, silver half-hearts but something cuter, funkier, more expressive and much more personality-infused. There is a wide variety of charms, including a frosty-white ice cream cone with flecks of sprinkles on top with a piece of bubble-gum pink cake, a cup of hot chocolate with a chocolate donut, an oreo and with a milk carton. Can we just say you’re you the peanut butter to my jelly?? Or you’re the milk to my cookie?? We’re getting hungry just describing them! If only all our food smiled at us quite so cheerily.

No CommentsLovin’-Life Dolls! It’s hard to believe last week was the “official” first week of summer!! This merely means longer days with loads of hours to have fun in the sun and go shopping. This week the girls at BabyDolls would like to take a moment to reflect on a few of the things we ABSOLUTLEY LOVE and more often than not take for granted…
1. Rainbows on a rainy summer day.
2. Ice cream cones that melt almost too fast to eat.
3. Summer dresses – so cute and comfortable.
4. When your favorite song is on the radio and you sing at the top of your lungs with all the car windows down.
5. Blue skies.
6. BBQs with family and friends.
7. Colorful butterflies.
8. Swimming at the BEACH!
9. Strolling through the park with a loved one on a beautiful carefree afternoon.
10. Sunshine!
We have so much to be thankful for, not only in the summer, but all year. So just pause for a moment and reflect. Enjoy the few short summer months we have and start by doing something simple that makes you totally and utterly happy today! XoXo,….

No CommentsHello Beautiful Dolls! This week we are going to take a moment to reflect on one of the most important reasons we work so hard at BabyDolls Boutique – to give back to local Chicago charities.
Recently the boutiques owner, Vanessa Rodriquez, toured The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls campus which reaffirmed her continued support in their amazing program.
The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls was started in 1887 in order assist at risk youth in Chicago. The Mercy Home provides programs and solutions for children in need, ranging from those who live at Mercy Homes full time residential campus, to those who participate in their after care programs and children in need of quality time with a positive role model.
The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls‘ Mission is to save young lives by providing a safe, nurturing home, opportunity for an excellent education and means for personal growth.
Please take a moment to visit Mercy Home’s website so you can see for yourself just how Mercy Home touches the lives of many in Chicago. Remember Dolls – it is “IN” to give and a little goes a long way!!

One of our greatest satisfactions here at BabyDolls Boutique is giving back to the community and to those less fortunate. Who better to give back to than itty-bitty babies! That is why we were pleased to be a part of WubbaNub’s donation to Northwestern Hospital. The WubbaNub pacifiers go to NICU and Neo-natal units. These pacifiers are no ordinary paci’s. What makes them different is the small plush toy attached to the only “soothie” used in hospitals. With the toy attached, a baby will feel comforted when the cute stuffed animal is lying gently on its chest. This also makes a baby less likely to spit out the paci.
At BabyDolls, you can choose from a ton of cute little animals! Giraffes, elephants, monkeys, horses, dogs, bears- oh my! You and your baby will both enjoy the comfort of this exceptional ”soothie.”
